Nilanjan Chanda is a QA Delivery Lead responsible for overall QA Delivery & Digital Transformation initiatives for one of the largest North American Insurer. Along with his experience in complex program management and delivery Transformation, he also come with a significant Industry experience in Technology, Delivery management, and Account management of Global BFSI Customers.

Nilanjan will be taking an Interactive Session on “Re-imagining Quality Assurance in the age of Digitization: With Customer Centricity at the Core” – Track 1 on Day 1
With the advent of digital technologies, there is a diminishing boundary between business processes and consumer behaviour. As the “direct to consumer” model gains momentum, the mantra behind sustaining an industry-leading position is to put the customers at the centre and align digital transformation initiatives around them. Traditional quality assurance (QA) has undergone a tectonic shift to stay relevant in the age of Agile and DevOps. Adopting test automation and quality engineering practices have improved agility; but often fail to address the gap between technical design and customer experience.
The paper intends to reimagine the existing QA process, tools and frameworks in the light of the increasing need to drive enhanced customer experience. A well-defined customer-centric QA strategy will help in assuring quality of end-user experience. A detailed analysis of customer centricity strategies reveals the following pivotal levers:
• Ease of product/service discovery with human-centred design principles.
• A robust omni-channel strategy that focuses on non-functional aspects, such as security and performance, in multiple devices or platforms ensuring simple and secure system interactions.
• Actionable insights from production, which takes into account customer feedback, to pave the way for continuous improvement.
The paper articulates alignment of QA with the customer-centric digital modernization and intends to leverage existing tools and automation capabilities to cater to the bi-directional mandates of improving quality as well as enhancing customer experience. A three-pronged customer-centric QA strategy is developed based on the following tenets:
• Crowd-sourced QA to assure design and usability aspects at scale.
• Persona-based customer experience tests for mobile devices.
• Analytics-led production incidents analysis to pre-empt incidents.
An indicative implementation plan is proposed to identify, assess and execute the customer-centric QA strategy to reap the benefits of digital channels and platforms.

1. Why should someone choose testing as a career ? Or What does testing really mean to you ?
#ATAGTR2019 invites speakers from around the technology companies to interact and exchange ideas & latest insights on the current Testing trends. Speaking in such top-notch event would help me to demonstrate my thought leadership. This is also a great opportunity to network with other professionals, get exposure, and build leadership skills.
2. Do you think that organizations and individuals should go out and mingle more in community programs?
Community Programs offer an opportunity to develop new professional relationships and gain knowledge thus helping to become more successful in one’s career. Attending professionals gets a chance to meet with people from a wide range of backgrounds, of whom one may not encounter at their workplace. Additionally, Community Program participation helps to serve specific communities and gives an opportunity to the Professional / Organization in terms of giving back their knowledge to the community.
3. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
I try to follow a dedicated personal routine of reading daily about what I want to improve in my professional and personal life.
