We had posted some questions to Ruslan as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why do you think speaking at #ATAGTR2019 really matters to you?
I would like to share with everyone my knowledge, experience, lessons learned based on my mistakes, wins, losses, successes and disappointments which happened to me throughout 22 years of experience in Testing field from the start of my career as a Junior Tester.
2. What was the drive behind starting your own Software Testing Company?
I started QA Mentor because testing is my passion and I wanted to help as many companies and QA Professionals around the world to improve and mature their QA processes, adapt best practices, establish high performance testing teams. I saw a huge gap within the industry where existing QA services failed to meet the need of software companies in a cost-effective manner. Therefore, we came forward as one-stop shop to provide end-to-end QA services.
3. What is the most daring challenge you took and the risk associated with it?
The most daring challenge was when I sent my resignation letter to my boss at a very well-paying job. I simply walked away from a very big role I played in a big financial company without any guarantees about my future. My friends, my relatives and everyone around could not understand my decision and the big risk I was taking. It was very brave and tough decision as I was putting my family at risk – something most people don’t do unless they are absolutely sure they can mitigate those risks or have financial backup. I felt sure that I could pull it together. I was ready for it and I wanted to try and succeed.
4. What advice would you share for future entrepreneurs?
The path of life is an extremely difficult road with many obstacles, surprises, challenges and unpredictable circumstances, but that we must be ready for them and move forward with a positive attitude and believe in ourselves and our team. For me, business is a game – a very challenging and tough game where you have to give 100% and be passionate about what you do to win. You should never be concerned about money, wealth, and your own success. You should be concerned about the happiness and success of your customers and happiness of your own employees. When you have achieved that, you will be successful and a true winner.
