Global Testing Retreat #ATAGTR2019 welcomes Sarah Lovely as our esteemed speaker

We would like to Welcome Sarah Lovely as our esteemed speaker for Global Testing Retreat #ATAGTR2019
Sarah Lovely is working as a Performance tester, with Cognizant technology Solutions for past 7 years, she is very passionate about being a Performance tester and her goal is to build a successful career in my domain.
Sarah is our esteemed speaker for #ATAGTR2019.
Sarah will be taking an Interactive Session on “Performance testing of Chatbot” – Track 1 on Day 1

Abstract:

Chatbots are interactive bots and they are computerized programs that carry out interactions with people for a particular task. Chat bots are playing an important role in digital Marketing as it replaces the existing manual Customer Service. Thus, chatbots are really an AI revolution in customer service world. A bot mechanism maintained by programming to conduct conversation through auditory/textual method. Chatbots guides and assists users with queries on apps and websites by providing a conversational interface that is similar to talking with a human agent. In Insurance, bots are used to explain complex products, to improve sales and distribution, and allow fast and contextual access to information.

This mechanism tries to mimic an actual human interaction with some limited knowledge and pre fixed input criteria from actual user. The knowledge of the Bot is defined and can be expanded based on defining the purpose and code integration. Application with ChatBot APP is hosted in Heroku [PaaS], which is Connected to Bot Integration and processing Layer. Amazon Lex recognizes that a particular information has been requested and using AWS Lambda function the information is retrieved. By accessing to Heroku application instance, we can monitor the activities along with logs with the help of New Relic by capturing the bot response time from Lex server, through which we can identify the Performance bottlenecks.

We had posted some questions to Sarah as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or What does testing really mean to you?
From the day-to-day products we use to the digital gadgets we have in store wouldn’t be a better one if it’s not properly tested. I feel that Performance testing is mandatory for every application. How would you feel when Alexa/Google Assistant/Siri responds back to you after 10 secs since the query is made, we really feel restless? Hence, performance testing of an application has become top priority in recent years. The ultimate goal of my testing career is not to find the bugs in app but to improve the quality of the application by making it to respond quickly.
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
TELL ME AND I FORGET. TEACH ME AND I REMEMBER. INVOLVE ME AND I LEARN.” – BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
Learning new technologies every day at my work keeps my learning graph growing and for sure Learning is what that keeps our mind young
3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it? Or the most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same
Once in my project we had a requirement to test Native mobile apps.Though Customary mobile performance testing will throw light on response time, but there are few other vital metrics like CPU, Memory and Battery of the device, which need to be gauged when application is running. Performed few changes in developer options of the specific mobile device and captured the CPU statistics in the SD card folder after executing certain commands.
