We had posted some questions to Nalinikanth as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career ? Or What does testing really mean to you ?
To me testing is a religion. I have been part of testing applications across different domains. While many companies do test their products rigorously they want to protect their customer, revenue and brand/name that they have in market. So, you get a be in a state where you make a very valuable contribution to those. Some times you have to be extremely careful as your application might directly help people’s lives.
ah, importantly!! It’s interesting domain to be part of
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
Yeah, definitely it makes you perfect. One everyday practice that helped me to have an eye on the pipelines. I always like them green but in case I find them red, Maybe I have a challenge to solve that day
3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it? Or The most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same
Did you ever test docker containers? Most of you might have done that right!!
When I was testing docker on a on premise server (Assume a local laptop or server), we have observed a bug “when the docker container starts before the machine connect to internet on a reboot then the container is not able to pick up the network” apparently, we figured out that there needs to be some changes done as part of docker network.
4. Anything else you want to share
I am happy to see so many people coming and sharing their learning, ATA is providing one such place and I would love to see more of these happening
