Supriya & Nilesh will be taking an Interactive Session on “Digital Assurance for Connected World” – Track 2 on Day 1

The wide gamut of IP-aware and -addressable technology known as the Internet of Things (IoT) is embedded deeply into our professional and personal lives.
McKinsey Global Institute suggests that the financial impact of IoT on the global economy may be as much as $3.9 to $11.1 trillion by 2025. With the rise in the number of connected devices, comes challenges that are faced by the product development teams who build these devices.
When it comes to the development of the IoT systems, teams constantly face some common encounters that occur anywhere from start to the end of the development process. These scenarios have to be foreseen or anticipated beforehand and possible solutions should be sought in order to solve them. Quality assurance is key to ensuring that these IoT devices work accurately for the intended environment.
This white paper will elaborate the following key parameters:
1. IoT messaging Protocol Testing
2. Security Threats to Data
3. Interoperability issues
4. Testing Across Various Cloud IoT Platforms

Overcoming these parameters will help in building stable and quality IoT products. A well-structured requirement, a proper test plan, unit testing, and integration testing can help in thoroughly testing the IoT devices and supported infrastructure, and allowing them to thrive in a connected environment. Most testing is done based on the device perspective, but in the future, we can see changes in testing as more human-centric testing procedures may be included in the testing cycle.

Though the influence of IoT is already evident across different verticals, emerging markets will witness rapid growth. This white paper captures the aspects of IoT that are relevant to QA organizations. Further, it elaborates the paradigm shift required in QA in order to embrace the achieving high-quality IoT solutions.

We had posted some questions to Supriya & Nilesh as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or What does testing really mean to you?
Jerry (Gerald) Weinberg, a renowned scientist and testing expert said, “If you are not learning something new each day, you are not testing”.
This statement is true in today’s leading edge technology era. One should continuously learn, learn and learn.
Technology & framework such as Cloud, IIOT, Big data, ML, AI, Agile, RPA, Cyber security etc. In each and every technological landscape / area “testing” is the most important parameter to consider.
Testing is the only influencing factor where complete coverage of application development, its performance gets covered as per specification set by customer.
Consider an example, the complexity and the diversification in IOT processes raises many challenges to the Testing aspects of planning, monitoring, controlling and execution. Choosing the right testing partner in IOT testing processes can mean the difference between success and failure.
From testing perspective, crucial step for successful integration in a digital world is to reduce test cycle time through adoption of dynamic test engineering platforms. Interoperability testing is a key motive in testing since it addresses the endless amounts of sub systems and its related interactions.
In a nutshell, Testing is a change agent, providing the natural link between Development and operation from the technological and cultural aspects. Software testing methods need to keep up with technological advancements.
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
IT Consultant / Practioner / Tester should focus on following things in there IT life cycle-
1. Understand the customer need, be confident and prioritize the work
2. Be rational, analytical and logical
3. Social networking skill
4. Learn new things & ready to take any challenge
5. Awareness & understanding of tools and techniques
