We had posted some questions to Ravi as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or what does testing really mean to you?
Quality Testing delivers Quality products. Current generation mostly indulged in designing different software products and using them. Testing those designed products is mandatory before using them. I am into a field where delivering a quality product can make Stakeholders & End Users happy.
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
Initially, I was a bit disorganized in the office day work, activities & learning new things about the field. After some experience, I started practicing everyday an organized and planned manner of work, learning & applying them based on priorities on a daily basis, which made things better.
3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it ? Or The most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same
In one of my projects in UI/UX, I have noticed some crashes on the web application very frequently during user actions in testing environment. It was happening for quite some time. However, Dev environment is not able to see this. I wanted to find the exact situation the issue occurs, It is a very big application, so i broke one big module into small chunks and tested each small module and within a short time, found the issue is due to unwanted spaces incorporated when migrating.
When I was in P2E testing in Desktop application, I am not sure of the functionality & there was no SME on that. I went through all the documents available, understanding every logic and proceeded with the testing, finally delivered a quality product with zero leakage. Later, we were asked to give a demo on how the logic works to Client and Clients appreciated. Going to the basics, when we do not understand the things is the big learning from this.
