We had posted some questions to Rohith as a part of his #ATAMyStory
1. Why should someone choose testing as a career? Or what does testing really mean to you?
Software testing is the most interesting job because it throws challenges at you every day. The key of any successful business is the quality of product, so quality is a prime factor. For that reason, I always want to be a part of quality of product. Therefore, I am fully satisfied as a part of quality member of product. That is the reason I have chosen software testing as my career path.
2. While practice makes all of us perfect, share an everyday practice that has made things better for you at work
This is the only field in IT, where you have to apply a number of ideas to do your work. You have to look at a bigger picture and you have to understand how badly end user can handle the product and have to imagine what could be end user’s expectations. Every day in office someone will teach us something and someone will learn something; either it is from their mistakes or experiences. The major role is Communication within team will help us to think in different ways to do testing and we share the information to reach the expectation placed on us.
3. The most challenging bug or issue that I have found and learnings from it ? Or The most challenging testing task that I have done and how I accomplished the same
Regression Testing: The biggest challenge for a manual tester is to find bugs in features, which are already stable. Question is if the feature is already stable then why will it have any bugs? Yes it might. New features often tend to break older feature and as a manual tester things, which are already working fine since ages, are neglected or missed. Most obvious solution to this is automate your regression testing to avoid missing out such bugs.
4. Anything else you want to share
I Extremely Happy to be part of cognizant family where testing career is given utmost importance
